Am I Happy? is built on a foundational principle of anonymity. Authentication is handled exclusively via Google Sign-In. We store only an anonymous technical identifier - we never receive, store, or process your name, email address, or any other personal attribute from your Google account.

2. Anonymity by Design
Am I Happy? uses Google Sign-In as its sole authentication mechanism. When you sign in, Google provides our application with a technical user identifier - a unique opaque string that carries no personal information. We store only this identifier.
We do not receive, request, or store your Google name, email address, profile photo, or any other personal attribute from your Google account. Your wellbeing data is associated exclusively with this anonymous technical identifier, making it structurally impossible for us to link it to your real-world identity.
3. Data Collected
The following data is processed when you use the application:
- Google technical identifier - An anonymous, opaque string provided by Google Sign-In. Used solely to associate your data across your devices. It contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify you.
- Gender - Optional. Collected only if you choose to provide it within the app settings. Used solely to adapt grammatical agreement in the application's language (some languages require gender inflection). Never used for profiling or shared with third parties.
- Wellbeing responses - Your daily answers to wellbeing questions, stored anonymously and associated only with your technical identifier.
- Technical access data - Minimal server logs (IP address, timestamp) retained for security purposes for a maximum of 30 days, then automatically deleted.
4. Purpose of Data Processing
Data is processed exclusively for the following purposes:
- Providing the wellbeing tracking service described in the application
- Synchronizing and backing up your data across your own devices
- Improving the application through aggregated, fully anonymized statistics
No data is used for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose other than operating the application itself.
5. Google Sign-In and Third-Party Authentication
Authentication is handled by Google LLC via the Google Sign-In service. The authentication exchange takes place directly between your device and Google's servers. Pragmatic Apps receives only the anonymous technical identifier described in Section 3.
Google's own data practices during the authentication process are governed by Google's Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
6. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
The legal basis for processing your data is your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6§1(a)), given at the time you sign in with Google and accept the application's terms. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
7. Data Storage and Security
Your data is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure located in the European Union (Ireland, eu-west-1). AWS is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant, operating under a Data Processing Agreement with Pragmatic Apps.
Data is protected using industry-standard security measures:
- Encryption in transit: TLS 1.2 or higher
- Encryption at rest: AES-256
- Access controls restricting data access to authorized systems only
8. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account remains active. Accounts that have been inactive for more than 36 months may be subject to deletion. Because we do not store your email address, notification of impending deletion will be displayed in-app during your last active session prior to the deletion threshold.
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time via the application's Settings screen.
9. Data Sharing
Your data is never sold, rented, or shared for commercial purposes.
Data may be transmitted only to:
- Amazon Web Services - hosting provider, operating under a Data Processing Agreement and subject to GDPR requirements
- Google LLC - authentication provider via Google Sign-In; receives no wellbeing data; governed by its own privacy policy
- Competent authorities - only where legally required by applicable law
10. Your Rights Under GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access - to obtain a copy of the data we hold
- Right of rectification - to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure - to request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Right to data portability - to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to object - to object to certain processing activities
- Right to withdraw consent - at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing

11. Account Deletion
You can delete your account directly from within the application via Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible: all your wellbeing data is permanently removed from our servers. Revoking Am I Happy?'s access to your Google account via your Google account settings will prevent future sign-ins but does not automatically delete stored wellbeing data - please use the in-app deletion to ensure complete erasure.

12. Advertising
Am I Happy? contains no advertising of any kind. No advertising networks, tracking SDKs, or behavioral profiling tools are integrated into the application.
13. Children
Am I Happy? is not intended for persons under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a person under 16 has created an account, please contact us at pragmaticapps13@gmail.com and we will delete the account promptly.
14. Policy Updates
